Attention to orders. Citation to accompany the award of the Silver Star to Airman First Class David R. Berrio.

Airman First Class David R. Berrio distinguished himself by gallantry in connection with military operations against an opposing armed force as a Pararescue Specialist near Pleiku, Republic of Vietnam, on 24 November 1967. On that date, Airman Berrio led a group of volunteers into an area of exploding ammunition trucks on a life-saving mission. Under fire from hostile forces, Airman Berrio persevered until he found and rescued four injured victims of a convoy ambush. His decisive action can be credited with the saving of these lives. By his gallantry and devotion to duty, Airman Berrio has reflected great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
